There are lots of other components in the Outback that are not in the Liberty to make the higher ground clearance. I would suggest you find someone selling/parting out an Outback of the same model as your car. 1999 was the year they changed from Gen2 to Gen3 in the Liberty (I see you put Gen3 in th...

Yep, now on the lookout for s/h Outback struts, thank you.

Next door neighbour but one has a suitable Outback... wonder if he wants to lower it... ;)

A lift kit doesn't give you extra ground clearance, it just raises the body which helps with the approach & departure angles. I wouldn't trust a lift kit with rally abuse. Look around for the Bilstein suspension. It has thicker shafts (and may even be upside down) as these are the part of the suspe...

When you say STD height springs, do you mean STD Liberty or STD Outback?

Gen3 Liberty - raising suspension

Hi Guys I have a 99 Liberty that's no longer required as the runabout. Won't pass a RWC, so worth basically nothing... so I've floated the idea with some mates to turn it into a budget gravel rally car. As you do. Most of the mods required are reasonably clear to us (such as cage, battery isolation ...

Thought I'd add the last "real world" experience from us - the time has come to part with the Outback. Since it was last at the dealership being repaired under warranty around Christmas 2013, we’ve had no DPF warning light come on. However we have had the odd vibration coming back to haunt us, both ...

I have been considering a new 2.0L diesel Outback for a little while now, but reading through this thread my intentions have certainly been placed on the back-burner, so to speak. I think it has been posted before in this thread (?), but here is an excerpt from the Subaru website regarding the dies...

Glad you got it sorted, seems other people might have to start bypassing the dealer too. Why would the turbo itself clog up? Too much soot build up around the VGT vanes caused by unnecessary amounts of fuel dumped trying to regen DPF? The only dealer I have unwittingly bypassed is the one we bought...

Well, Merry Christmas and all that to all! Interesting developments from the land of buggered Outback. So it's Thursday last week and I was bleating loudly to the idiots at the dealer. "Yeah, really sorry about this but they only got the car yesterday, can't fit it in before Christmas, yadda, etc." ...

Minor update from me... the car is STILL with the dealer. Looks like they're going to keep it over Christmas at this rate, which I'm not very pleased about, and after the conversation I had with them this afternoon, they're pretty clear on that one. Took them 6 working days to change the rear main s...

Well, my car's currently being looked at. Took it in on Monday morning, and I don't expect to see it until Friday afternoon. And you know what? The DPF regen light came on on Sunday night coming home! Went on for about a minute as a solid light, then started flashing, giving us no time to do the hi-...

Thanks for the welcome. The Forester was great, an 05 XS manual. Only trouble with it was that the wife wanted a newer car, really. Can't argue with that. I've also heard of many happy campers going down the DPF delete route. Honestly I couldn't give a damn about not passing emissions test and wot n...

I thought I'd add to this thread and not the other one ( http://ausubaru.com.au/showthread.php?t=18766 ), both of which have made for very interesting reading for me over the last few weeks. My wife and I bought a secondhand 2010 Outback TD Premium in September this year from a big local dealer (not...
