Fair enough. Not arguing that welding isn't the elegant solution, just hoping the cost of "being elegant" isn't too wince-worthy.

A day for a pro is still spendy. Call me a butcher maybe, but I reckon I'd try for a fill using Devcon Steel. That stuff amazes me every time I use it.
