i had the back of my Brumby Jacked up and on stands to fit my lift kit.. i put it in low range 4WD and 1st gear to try lock the back wheels so i could remove them.. but the back wheels would still turn freely..
i thought being in 4WD would stop them turning... or am i wrong?

got the foam shaved down to a uniform 20mm and drew a template of the rough sloping shape to follow.. now the fun begins.. the foam is a lot denser than i expected which made it hard to cut, bring on the belt sander for the rough shape, then i'll hit it gently with a sanding block to make the finer ...

as with all first time builds, plans change to suit whats working and whats not.. i am now going to fill the lid with expanding foam, so i can shape it for run off(as suggested by Bantum) then i will glass over the top... central locking kit should arrive some time this week, so i can fit the spare ...

i'm trying not to use wood in it's construction.. the base for the glass was bits i had in the shed.. i use to fit hard lids way back when i was an accessory fitter, one brand we used was fibreglass over a securamesh core... they were light weight and rigid.. thats where i got the idea to use the mesh
