Im just glad i actually found one for a "decent" price...
Been looking for ages.
Dream would be what you want, but i would be searching for ages to get that :P

Already tested it at the powerlines, wayy better.
I still prefer the beach though :P Way more fun than driving 1kmh on rocks.

Low range goodness

So i finally found a 98 series forester gearbox, ( 1.44) low range.

Got a 4.11 rear diff for $120 ( mabye a viscous diff )

Will be putting into my 98 outback which currently has a ej20t + 2 inch spacers + forester 03 struts + ~27 inch tyres

Im pretty happy, will prob swap it over on the weekend.

WTB AWD Gearbox

Soooo

Im onto my 3rd gearbox now, my 2 other 400k + ej22 gearboxes didnt fend well against a ej20t

Anyone have any gearboxes lying around?

Ideally i would love the dual range 1.44 forester box.

But im up for a 3.9 wrx box/ even another 3.9 ej22 box.

I had this in my old liberty, i then took out that gearbox and put it in my outback ( blew reverse), once i had this in my outback dual range worked fine ?

Only thing different was i reused the dual range lever/cable/gear stick/+ linkages from the outback.

Mabye the lever is at fault here?

Update Put some 2006 forester Struts/springs in. Possibly raised it about half an inch, but my god is the ride better, the stiffer springs are wayyyy better, and i think my old outback struts were on there way out ( bouncy) I will Def be getting a 2inch lift + King raised springs at some stage. Goin...

Radiator looks quite new, ( doesnt really tell you the insides)

Though when i flushed the system the heater core seemed to be pretty blocked up/ or air locked.

Is this Will's Outback with the turbo engine? Indeed it is. Put my seats/tyres gave it a wash/cleaned inside/ Fixed some minor engine issues. Scrubbed nicely, just gota sort the head gasket at some stage, though its actually not as bad as i initially thought. The AFM is also dodgy so need another o...
