Don't buy a fuel miser (Brand) o2 sensor for your gen 2 outback. Drove a hundred kays to the wreckers, who let me try one of their used sensors before i bought it. No cel light, problem fixed 60 bucks. Will be getting my money back and putting it towards lift for my wagon. Thanks to all that contrib...

I'm not quite sure what your saying. So the cheap o2 sensor has damaged the circuit? I'm in a similar position to you, i'm going to a wrecker on friday to triple check my sensor is doing what it should. Did the mechanic need to re-wire from the sensor plug to the ecu?

There is only one 02 sensor on my car. That could be it, the newer motor may have come from a car with the rear sensor as well.

I can find out, i'll call them tomorrow. Cheers

Replaced spark plugs and leads and did oil and filter on my 97 outback the other day. Less of a miss at idle and feels smoother, but CEL still appears and fuel economy poor. Today bought some uec from subie just waiting for the right time to dutch out the neighborhood.:D
