Is this normal? Only had this outback for 5 weeks and we seem to be going through fuel ridiculously or the fuel gauge is wrong. Any ideas/experiences with this?

Hi, just wondering, we are looking at selling our Liberty, and the person enquiring wanted to know the month and year it was made. It is Nov 2005, BUT on our rego papers, it says it's an 06 model. This was actually changed TO 2006, from a 2005 model on our papers when we first bought it back in 2009...
