Ok thanks fellas. I understand that the engine was fully rebuilt by the previous owner, so perhaps he ripped it out during this time.

Ok bear with me... See attached some close ups of the black box which is in my other soobs but not this one. So do we reckon this black box is definitely an EGR? In the manuals the EGR is always a metal round thing attached directly to the inlet manifold, although such an EGR is definitely absent on...

What about the other two - number 3 and 4? 4 I can tell is some sort of sensor that seems to be pointed at the alternator belt......

Help me identify these gizmos under my hood (L series). Also, ECS question

First off - can someone tell me what these gizmos are under my hood? I've identified most of the emission control stuff, but the name and purpose of these things I've highlighted in the photo elude me. Second - my latest EA82 L series that I have acquired seems to have had some messing around done w...

Yeah I didn't notice anything odd while the engine was running, it sounded fine...it's just that when I checked the oil I realised there was none in it.

If it's just below L marker, is it still mostly full anyway?

The oil light has blown, so I have no idea if the oil light came on, either. Sigh.

Quick question - short drive in EA82 with low oil - damage?

Car has been sitting in a shed for 12 months and most of the oil must have leaked out. I took it for a short drive (maybe 5km) stupidly without checking the oil level and when I got home and checked it, it was only visible on the end of the dipstick, just shy of the "L" (low) indicator line. Will I ...

Buying a used L series lift kit

I'm thinking of buying a used lift kit for my L series and I was hoping someone could eyeball this photo for me and tell me if it looks like it's a complete lift kit? I don't know much about em but I'm sure some of you might

Also, what would you expect to pay for a used lift kit such as this?

Okay, I think i'm going to go down the trailer route. Cheers guys.

Mind you, the current way I transport my 185cc trail bike is by lying it on its side in the boot with the rear seats folded down. It fits!! (but leaking fuel is an issue)

Towbar downward force limit of L Series?

Can anyone tell me what this is, and if it could be improved with a wee bit of welding?

(I want to put a dirt bike carrier like this http://winghamweldingworks.com.au/index ... cts_id=250 on the back...total weight might be 100kg...)

Any way to check mechanical advance EA82?

I know how to test the vacuum advance on the distributor of the EA82, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any way to check if the mechanical advance is working at all? I have a suspicion that perhaps mine isn't working but I'm stuffed if I know how I could check it besides pulling the whole thing to pi...

L series - dud heater - Can I yank permanently?

Like a lot of L series, the hoses have been cut off at the engine bay presumably because it started heating. If I don't want it, and wanna cut down on weight, can I just remove the whole heater unit completely....or is something else dependant on it?
