Thanks for the advice will try the time first the water pump is new so it better bloody work. I dont have a prior history so I cant answer the question. Will try the roding and find out about dual core rads. Cheers

I recently installed a five speed box and EA82 into an 83 brumby. Not the smartest thing I have ever done not much space and seems to drink like a thirsty hippo. However I have had constant overheating probs since it went in. so things I know:- not the heads (just re-done) not the rad just been flus...

thanks for the reply yes I could get the covers off if I remove the rad conserned I may have swapped the timing wheels around probably not but maybe so I am trying to find out if I wind the motor to say No1TDS and so on any thaughts

I just completed a scary trip from Melbourne to Albury having just fitted a canopy to by Brumby. The car now seems to be very soft in the rear and prone lean and wallow inn bends any one had simila probs.

4WD to AWD DR

If I were to drop in the EJ18 I am told that at some time this was backed up by a DR5speed AWD box if so can anyone tell me what this was originally fitted to so I know what to look for. Also any advice on what I may have to do to get ti into a Brumby.

Just out of interest why do u regret the swap from 81 to 82. for me its no space to work and 16.5litrs to the 100k's

Hi there, I posted here last year and was about to swap out the motor and box EA81 with an Ea 82 + 5 speed box into an 1983 Brumby. well job done alls well of sorts ( love the 5 speed box). I have a summary of all the overheating probs mentioned I have removed the thermostat which has helped a bit but the car still uses a lot of water I was thincking of a surge tank like what they got on dem new fangled cars I like the idea of a twin core rad though so how does one go about getting one...
