You'll be surprised how long a conversion can take to do, especially if you're going to do it on your learning curve along the way... yeh, if you are doing it yourself and you haven't done anything like that it will take you months. i was a little bit more experienced than you when i started, by th...

The reason I think I want an EJ22 over an EJ20 is for things like driving through deep sand. Both my EA82 L Series and Taza's EJ20 Foz detonate like a SOB on 91 octane, accelerating from a stop in soft sand. Both engines in their respective bodies sounded to struggle equally off idle. I understand ...

You also end up with a nice big bucket of nuts and bolts..............been so handy over the years, I only had to buy about 4 bolts to lift my entire car. spot on! ;) At the risk of getting too involved were i really dont want to  : You really need to stop comparing every aspect of every ...

If anyone is interested, my self and a mate are taking an L series out to two rocks or lancelin tomorrow for a bit of a play. If anyone is interested in coming out for a muck around send me a pm. we are just going to be driving around exploring and testing out his new EJ :D If you leave me a mob num...

if you stick with an ea gearbox, dont listen to guy on the bigger motor thing :p. driving in the wet with an ej25 or higher in fwd would be terrifying! an ej22 is bad enough. would make an awesome machine to have one matched up to an ej gearbox though. but the rest of it he is pretty much spo...

I'm trying to figure out if I want a EJ motor. I find my EA82's power to be fairly-adequate below 90 km/h. If a EA82 MPFI is noticeably more economical than a EJ22, I might prefer one. The extra 15% horsepower would likely solve my issues above 90 km/h. I dont think there is really any other way of...

on most subies, or any without a serious lsd or locker, that would just spin the other wheel if you were really stuck. it would only work on cars with locking diffs of some sort.

it could i guess be used to stop a wheel in the air spinning, but other than that i dont really see the point.

pessimist: The 1/2" is a little loose and because these plugs can be quite tight, I dont wanna strip it out. Optimist: The slop allows you to get a bit of a run up on the plug before dislodging its grip :D i think that beats the cup half empty/half full analogy myself :p as for the plugs, i never ha...

well mine is 3 plug to the motor, 4 plug on the computer. Gen 1, i also thought series 2 but could be wrong. also your lift will affect it Bennie, i have no lift at the moment, but with your 3" it would be a fair bit more resistant. and we will never get them the same anyway, driving in different co...

It will get you pretty good at heel and toe ;)

I had a similar problem after 4wding, it was solved by about 85k/hr in 2nd flat out down the highway. i suspect some carby cleaner would have had the same effect. it could be worth trying something like that if the vacume lines dont solve it.

just for the record, my last tank (which was mostly just travelling to uni and back in moderate traffic, and the odd blast when i decided someone should know the car was EJ'd :D ) was 9.95L/100k with the 13" wheels. should be able to get this considerably lower on country drives. it will be interest...

well that could explain it. mine was out of a fwd auto sedan, if it makes any difference.

BUT they will only fit if you have a minimum lift of 2 inch on your car. Not just strut lift but the cross member needs to drop about 2inch as the angle of the EJ racks is different. I have heard a few people say this, but the gen 1 lib steering knuckle bolted straight accross for me with no lift o...

i found it pretty tight to fit in. i had to slightly file the holes on the EJ rack brackets to match the l series bolt pattern. for me the l series ends works fine but there isn't a whole lot of room for adjustment in. it was a pretty tight squeeze with the power steering lines also. but you will lo...

just bolt the l series ends onto the liberty rack and you should be able to make it short enough.

is your L EJ'd?
