Oil pump seals definately worth a go, has worked for me, though the lifter noise hadn't been there for a long time as is your case

I've run twin thermo's on my L turbo for 6 years. Stocko + davies craig 10" using the stock sensor to trigger. Granted it has a thicker core custom made alloy radiator which increased coolant volume substantially...

I put a liberty master cylinder on my L series with rear discs. Its from a gen1 series 1 liberty (manual). It works fine.
