To do it you mod the compressor. Basically you pull it apart and change the open bearings which use the oil / gas for lubrication for sealed bearings which do not need lubrication.

It depends on the model of compressor as to weather you can do it or not.

Hi Rob,

What you are describing I would put my money on the AFM. Have had quite a few with the exact symptoms and they have all been AFM's.

Thanks for the feedback .. I will just pull them off and order a set from the book, just thought if someone had already done it them that would save me some time and effort. I am not running rear shock extensions or front strut blocks. I have 2" body lift but am going with longer travel struts and l...

Weight of an RX and a Brumby ?

Can anyone tell me how much an 85 RX Turbo would weigh ? Also an 89 Brumby ?

I did a search but found nothing and I am sure it was on the old board.

Cheers,

hi

Cheers for that. Reason i asked cause I have a guy running one in a kombi and he wants me to tune his Link ECU to match. Seems the EJ 20 the ECU was on uses a different fuel map to the EA81T.. http://www.manxgallery.org/gallery/albums/SubiEngines/EA81T_WRX_Cooler.jpg http://www.manxgallery.org/galle...

mmm

If you cut strips and then weld them in behind the panels you will end up with a rust trap due to the over hang, it will catch all sorts of stuff.

If it is anything like an EJ it will cause you to stall on occasion when you pull up after driving. Also effects fuel economy.

I would guess it does the same in an EA 82T.

A select monitor is what the Subaru dude plugs into your car to tell him what is wrong. Lets call it a diagnostics plug. Do you need it ?? No not if you don't want people to plug in a Select Monitor once your conversion is done. Yes if you do. You can get the same info give or take a few things from...

ok

Yep they are easy to change. You need to pull your front covers off, cam belt off and then water pump. Wack in a new one, reset the tensioner and put the belt back on. Only two cams on the EJ 22 so it is pretty easy to line it all up. Then put covers and belts back on. In a VW it takes about 30 mins...
