When the drivers side rear trailing arm broke at Finke in 2010 we sort of slid to a stop into some scrub as I tried to steer off the track. I managed to avoid all the big trees but the pass. door came to rest against a bush. Couldn't open the door but the panel damage was minimal. http://img689.imag...

I'm not overly concerned with the C channel flexing although it's not something I'd use to attach suspension to the body. What alarms me is the torsion bar spacers aren't joined. If you welded some material between the two spacers on each side, say a 3mm plate, it would assist in stopping the blocks...

Read whole thread. time for sleep. awesome work! I'm as confused as a fat kid with a salad though, are you still allowed to run the brumby? Yes. The only thing that's changed is that now you're permitted to mount the engine in the rear if you want to. If todays comedy of errors and bad luck comes t...

I guess it's about time to revive this thread and continue on with the build. The anticipated ruin of Extreme 4WD (the old class 8 ) hasn't happened. In fact, there are quite a few front-engined cars being built now that will certainly keep this class exciting into the future. Last year I decided to...

So it's a Cusco plate-type LSD?
How are the diff mounts? The front one especially is critical in keeping the diff from flogging around.

I've run a 28" with a 3" lift and major guard cutting. As with most cars the firewall is the limiting factor.

Banning the live export trade to Indonesia (or everywhere as Animals Australia advocates) will do nothing to improve the welfare of cattle in Indonesia. This huge population needs to eat and will simply source their livestock elsewhere. It may make some Australians feel better but the mistreatment w...

Use a spool in the centre diff instead. Easy to install in the car, the gearbox doesn't have to be removed.

Make sure you're rear LSD is in good nick too.

There's a range of aftermarket coilovers to choose from which give you the smaller diameter coil springs you're after and an easily adjustable ride height. Camber change can then be achieved at the bot...

I'll put money on not being able to get it engineered in QLD without a chassis swap.

There was one built in Brisbane on a Hilux chassis. I last saw it advertised in the Trading Post.

Hey, if you can get it scrutineered and log booked then go for it.

If they let you compete, I concede. We need more competitors in class 7.
