Thanks, What did those turbo's come off?

On one of the mazda forums one of the guys modified the exhaust housing from the factory vj11 to fit the vf12 cartridge. So it was a hybrid using the factory oil, coolant lines and the factory manifold.

How did he fit? New manifold or bolt it to the exhaust housing? How much do you want for the vj12?

Thats sounds good to me. They're a little smaller than the vf12? Are wither roller bearing? I will grab it tho if i can? Where are you from?

Mate I wouldn't even know what they're worth... Is it in good nick? I'm hoping to modify it to fit a mazda factory turbo exhaust housing so guess it doesn't matter if it is. So how much you want for it?

Na mate no amount of decarb will fix this...

It was meant to (paid for) have race bearings fitted and had brand new je forged piston set, gudgeon, retaining rings etc.

So you've heard that the rods actually stretch? Haven't heard of it happening on ej's?

If you heard this thing you'd know it wasnt a lifter, sounds and feels like a pistons trying to bash the head off. haha Na its not built for that but know someone who builds and races suby's and says the rules in his class only allow them to use factory rods.

thanks little white ute, its been running for about 6 months without a problem. So dont think its deck hieght.

Thanks for the replies guys. So do they actually stretch? I thought it had spun a bearing. Dont they use factory rods on class n? rally cars? Havent heard of them stretching rods.

Thanks for the reply, had the engine rebuilt, fitted je race forged pistons, line bored etc to suit forgies, race bearings, reused the rods, serviced heads etc, its running a vf34? turbo with an autronic computer. He had it dyno tuned but it has different diffs front and rear so they couldnt do a po...

Hi guys, Has anyone stretched rods on a 2001 wrx? If so what caused it?

G'day, could it be intermittantly over boosting? Broken wastegate line?, or those factory solenoids that control the boost?

Hi, Some auto chokes need to be pushed wide open throttle before they set. If the engines been on a different angle sometimes the floats can stick causing it to flood. Is it blowing black smoke? Try tapping the carby. Otherwise keep looking for air leaks, or bumped timing. Hope that helps a little.
