Absolutley - there is nothing worse that a road car 'done up' to look like a rally car (even if it is a 22B to start with).

Which enjine are you putting in?

I've just done a 1.6 FWD to 2.0 4WD swap, and the 1.6 FWD shafts are the same as the n/a 2.0 4WD shafts. I am not sure if the turbo ones are bigger though, if you are going EJ20T?

I have two mates that use Import Monster fairly regularly, they havent seemed to have any problems with stuff not arriving here.

Import duty can be a big issue on more expensive items ($1000+), but I would say freight is going to be the biggest killer on your bar, as it is so large.

Good work - is it one of the Group A cars? Werent that many around, so it certainly narrows things down to who the original owner was. Has it been resprayed Blue & Yellow?

Get some pics or we will all think your making it up!

The history of this one is what makes it so good, its better than an old factory car and is practically brand new!

Any details on the car you have bought from Coffs? My old one was up that way....

Spike - you'll never go close to building one for this price....if an RX is really what you want, sell a kidney or two to make it happen!

It was originally built here in Canberra, and has only done a season or two of rallies.
All the good bits, very fresh, would be a great buy!

I have been trying to make the big decision on what suspension to put in the car (to lift or not) and I change my mind daily! At the moment, the car will be a daily to get me to work and back 95% of the time. Apart from the occasional weekend trip into the hills to take my boys mountian biking, it w...

Good idea! Blue roof and hatch....maybe I could start a new trend?

d-generate - the seats came up a treat after the wash. I should have done it in the first place! A few more little things ticked off the list; -> Stuck the 'little' wing on the back -> Whilst chasing the reason for the centre brake light not working (which included pulling all the bloody wiring out ...

A few weeks since the last update, and not a whole lot more to report on (damn 35+deg days!). Phase 1 is pretty much complete. All mechanicals and interior are in, fluids are topped off, and its 99% a living car again. I also picked up a set of 16" WRX rims off a mate cheap. Just waiting on a new se...

For the moment I'm not going to bother, and have left the rear wiper disconnected. I was actually going to pull it all out of the tailgate (that0.5kg will make my n/a beast sooo much faster!). I cant remember the last time i used the rear wiper in my other wagon - do you miss it much? Love the photo...

Yep, fair call. I was so happy to be actually putting stuff back in that I didnt take too much attention to the state of the seats. Its a nice sunny day here today, and I am unlikely to find the motivation to do it later when the car is running, so I pulled them back out this morning, washed, and ga...

I am very excite!

Another good day in the shed (my wife is being very kind....not sure what she wants). I got the body loom out of the sedan and stuck that in. No big issues, it was slightly different to the wagon loom, as the wagon splits at the front with the tail-light wiring for each side separating across near t...
