Cheers for that, pretty much what I thought and have no idea WTF the mechanic was on about.

Can anyone tell me if say a 96 Libert came with a front wheel drive box which then allowed you to select 4WD ?

As far as I was aware they had dual range but where AWD, but I have a mechanic telling me the car is front wheel drive with selectable 4WD ?

Just be careful as the MY08 will have adjustable ride height crap on it and putting heavier rear springs on may create issues with it.

You're better off getting Gen 2 Liberty dual range gearbox as it has 3.7:1 ratio, get L series Low Range 1.59:1 also get 5th gear from RS Liberty box if you're going to use EJ20T that way you'll have low revs on highway..
