vidler, i did notice driving behind you, that your rear right driveshaft doesn't look all that straight, might be worth checking (this was before said incident)

Had this in my old MY wagon - kept it going for a few years by just holding the lever when reversing - doesn't take much force to keep it in gear

If anything, my gear lever moved backwards. Hits the 4wd lever in 2,4 and R. You can bend the lever quite easily to make it fit..

did yours have lift blocks on the rear bump stops?
