Re: What’s everyone up to these days?

I'm still here. Still in Muswellbrook NSW. Still have the 82 Touring wagon chipping away at keeping it going. Dream of retirement every day, with this being in single digits now, but don't know if this is 1 to 10 or 1 to 5 years. Health issues like tenosinovitis on both wrists (comes and goes) and b...

Thanks everyone, I would like to have a look at the video threads when I can give them the time they deserve.
Bit scary the direction I was heading by simply making mountains out of mole hills and how quickly it all escalated with me.
I have my crap together now so off we go again, full steam ahead.

Lots more photos and comments now added to the Subaru Brumby (and anything MY) Group of Australia Facebook site. If you want more info and aren't a member of this site let me know. Have put $850 on the car but willing to consider all decent offers.

Expression of interest - For Sale 1982 Touring Wagon

This is extremely difficult for me to write. I will be writing the same thing on the Subaru Brumby (and anything MY) Group of Australia Facebook site. These are the only 2 sites I will be raising this as these are the sites that have meant the most to me over the years. I would like to know the inte...

1982 EA81 points distributor

Anyone able to sell/post me a complete points driven distributor for an EA81. Mine is a Hitachi with ID numbers of 4298 77810 and D4J80-022403 off an 1982 engine. Thought I had enough parts to rebuild a spare one but I am missing a cam/lobe plate, an advance plate and vacuum advance pot. Would like ...

Project is a good one, thanks.
You are right, timing and I think luck plays a big part.
I dont search Gumtree as much as I should, mainly looking through ebay and weeding out things not needed.

Prefered search methods

I see constantly how people have found cool/different/useful/old items for their Subarus off ebay/Gumtree etc. I do the usual searches on both sites such as EA81, Subaru, Leone, Brumby, Brat and the like but does anyone have any better search methods and descriptions which lets them find all this go...

Don't I remember somewhere on this forum that some Suzuki Swift seats fit well?
I have been meaning to pull a front seat from my 98 model Suzuki Grand Vitara to see if the whole Suzuki thing looks like working but haven't had the time to do this yet.

While I do frequent FB a lot, the loss of this forum would be devastating. The FB sites have a place but long term this forum has more knowledge and character/charm than the FB sites will ever have. I guess if we have no choice but to use Firefox than what option is there to keep this forum populate...

New radiator arrived. Short and Long stories following. Sorry it's all a bit long but stick with all of this as it tells a good story. Short story first. Radiator went straight in with both electric fans attached, no mods required at all. It looks to be slightly wider but with rough measuring looks ...

I wont be able to deal with this for a while but my daily driver is a 98 model Suzuki Grand Vitara.
With talk of Suzuki Swift seats being a fit for an MY I might look into the GV seats and see if they at least look promising when I get a chance.

Also seem to recall someone stating in the forum that Ford Laser seats (KF model) may be an option for the MY's.
Anyone confirm this ?

For other reference I found the following on line in the Subaru engine manual Chapter 03 page 3-72. In reference to installing the crankshaft pulley & bolt. 27) Install crankshaft pulley on crankshaft with flange bolt. Torque: 64 to 74Nm/ 6.5 to 7.5 kgm/47 to 54 ftlb Note: a. When tightening the bol...

Oh yes, anyone have a factory Subaru manual or know for certain what the tightening torque is for the pulley bolt. I have manuals which are telling me anywhere between 53 and 74 Nm. This is a big difference so I want to do what Subaru recommend not what Gregories/Haynes etc state if it is different ...

OD of seal - I've never put anything on them! ID rubber grease to prime the seal. Pulley bolt - I've used a bit of the Chrome Molly cv grease on the thread and the mounting face of the bolt. This allows proper torquing of the bolt and of the grease manages to go dry it's not going to seize on. Doin...

Hi Cliff, be very interested to hear how it goes, I suspect I will need to do some thing similar sooner rather than later.. please keep a hold of the part numbers is it is a success as you may find a tribe of us trying the same thing. Peter I plan to keep all info and pass this on to the forum. The...
