Yeah I was under the impression that ej22s have a non-invasive valve set-up so that if they are out they wont get munted by the pistons or other valves. Engine history: Bought from a wrecker, apparently running before he sold it. (hmph) Compression Tester: Not sure, but its just a thread with a tube...

EJ22 Firing through Intake Manifold, will not start

Hi all, Just put an EJ22 into an L series, and when doing a test start, the engine fires out the intake followed by smoke. The fuel system is working properly, and the injectors are working, new spark plugs also and these are all sparking well. Did a compression test and Im not sure I like the resul...

WOW!

I just checked "Fatz" thread about his Monster L series wagon, and that is what I call nice offset. Even half that would be great. Wheel bearings a popping!

Looks extremely sexy Fatz. This is the offset I would like on my Brumby, makes yours look Very Very Pugdog TOUGH! Having said that, with that extra strain on the hubs from the wheels being spaced farther out from the original position, will this not precipitate into prematurely redundancy of your wh...

I have an early Lib Rad in my brumby. Can post pics if you like. Get an Ej Radiator and a Grinder for $20 from Supacheap and cut the rad support to the required distance, weld in a peice of angle iron, and bobs your great granfathers dog. Did this, and works a treat. Rad support is much stronger too.

Someone on the board was making adjustable castor rods, can't remember who, I believe I bought mine before the board rebuild..... You can make Adjustable Castors youself from EA falcons Castors (I may be incorrect on series), as they have a nice long amount of thread to play with, and they are reas...

BRUMBYRUNNER: Your brumby was partially my inspiration actually. Very awesome car I must say. Thanks for the tip on rims. Less offset the better eh? I might try to see if there is another vehicle with the same stud pattern, such as a Rav or a small Hilux Ute. I have noticed these to be five stud, bu...

5 Stud Hubs on Brumby. Offset Issues.

Hello all. I own a 84 Brumby. I have a front and rear five stud hub configuration with discs on front/back and rear hBrake setup. Problem: 31x10.5 R15s do NOT sit far enough out from the hub on the Liberty Stock Steel Rims which I have used to put the larger tyres on. This causes the tyre to rub on ...

I had same trouble when I first lifted my wagon by 2", and it seems to be by moving the gearbox from the body, the alignment of the shifter linkages was altered to a point where it ran into the shell of the vehicle/to the dash/other places. (It used to suck changing to fifth and having your music st...

Check out the au tech manual. That might help some.

Depending on ur subaru, many lift kits can be purchased, although they are not hard to make.. Just using alloy blocks or nylon, strut tower extentions are prob the only difficult parts to make.. But are not overly challenging.

Dual Alternator/Battery Anyone done this?

Hi, I have an ej22 dat I will put into my brumby, and because of the amount of xtra electrical thingos, I was thinking of having a dual alternator setup, with each charging its own battery, and or powering electrical components. Standard alternator> Battery 1> All regular operations. 2nd 110amp Alte...

But were shortened to L series here in Aus.

EFI is da only way now. More power, more efficiency, better response, better control..
ej22 would be just fine in your L. Not too much work either apparently..
