When I did the backs of the hoops of mine to cut down headlight glare I knocked the shine off the alloy with some 120 grit wet and dry then used Killrust Primer (which specifies Aluminium on the can) and then over the top with cheap enamel flat black. Just get some primer suitable for alloy and do ...

Thanks for the info.

I'm planning on changing the Brumby's windscreen later this year. If I find rust in those corner areas then replacing with your parts seems like a good idea.

dallas, what's the go with running two threads about the same topic? Is this your way of getting a second opinion?

dallas, stick your head under the engine bay and have a look at the front CV boots, particularly the right inner boot. If there is grease visible on the boot, then you've most likely got a hole in the rubber. Also look on the underside of the gearbox and the area to the rear underside of the engine....

Two possible areas to look at:

1. front inner CV boot tear and CV grease dripping onto the hot exhaust. (once smelt never forgotten).

2. Riding the clutch pedal and letting smoke leak out of the clutch plate.

Hatch? Coupe? ..... they've both got two doors and a boot, so they're same thing aren't they?

Question: Is the Fiori a hatch or a coupe?

A hatch on tracks?

I came across this clip of a hatch tearing up snow on tracks. I wonder how well a track system would perform on soft sand dunes?

I look at the coupe shape and think about older style rally cars - you know, the ones that have a purposeful squat and superlites. I do like the idea of a white vinyl roof and chrome luggage rack, but I suspect that to keep white vinyl looking top notch you'd need to garage it. Would you add ...

I've been using 'Castrol anti-freeze anti-boil engine coolant concentrate' , which comes in a 2.5 litre container. I dilute it to 50% with demineralised water bought from the supermarket and haven't had any problems. Technical Data Sheet .pdf http://www.tds.castrol.com.au/pdf/5692_antifreezeantiboil...

I was gonna write that I fitted a bigger battery because I've got a little penis, but thought that may have been a bit uncouth for this forum.

How come you need bigger battery? Cheers AP We wanted a battery that would comfortably power common camping items (light, radio, etc) for an overnight stop, and still have enough juice to crank the engine. Went and spoke to a few auto elecs, and some battery world people about what we wanted to run...

I've got a larger than OEM battery in my Outback, but needed to also fit a larger battery tray. The battery fits okay - even has a bit of space (~ 20mm) for clearance from the body and engine.
