These apply to Subarus with EA81 and 82 engines. Assuming your current engine is vaguely healthy you can try the following: Fuel and Timing : Use 98 RON fuel and advance timing to ~12 degrees BTDC. Cost: $0 Ignition upgrade - Electronic Distributor : EA81's mostly came with points based distributor...

Would Super Trippers be okay for the GRR, or would you recommend an upgrade to BFG All Terrains?

Two spare wheels, plus a tubeless repair kit?

Congratulations on the pregnancy - I hope everthing goes well for both Mum and the babies (you are having twins, right?). :)

Glad to read that you will still be frequenting this forum, as I want to pick your brains a bit more about the Brumby. 8)

Okay - I'm ignorant. :?

Can someone please tell me why hatches are so all-fascinating? Looking through my eyes, they look like a short wheelbase 2 door touring wagon.

Are they a grey import job, or were they sold by Subaru Australia?

Back on topic ... Wildhorse, when were you planning to make this mega-bashplate you mentioned - if it's in the next month or so, would you be interested in making an extra one? Any idea what the freight costs from Adelaide to Brisbane might be? It's just a thought, and if any Brisbane based member h...

No, no, no ................... you're missing the point! The whole idea of getting the Brumby is that it's got 2 seats only. Both me and the boy need to get away from the girls to maintain sanity. Getting a 5 seat Baja would be the worse option. Then they'd be no escape. 8O (BTW, I think the B...

lol No, my car (the Brumby) is defintely a two seater, which I will use as my daily driver to and from work, and it'll also be the fun machine for when me and the boy want to escape from the girls. Our other car (now known as her car) is a lifted Outback, which works very well as a family tourer. :)...

Hi Jack, You will find that there are quite a few members of this form that are also members of the QLD Subaru 4wd club. The next get together is New Years Eve at Bribie Is Nice Brumby - I noticed that the front guards have not been cut. Some Brumby owners have been known to bend front guards if th...

mud rat is right. but i would go aluminium. 4 mm so you save weight, and still have ample protection with a bit of give. I think i have an original i am not using if you r interested in it. I am enclosing the whole underside with 3mm aluminium where it counts and 2mm where it is there just to look ...

Thanks for the carbie tips. I'll keep them in mind if I have any problems (although after reading the positive comments, I'm now tempted to fit a Weber). :) One thing I did notice is that my Brumby doesn't have any protection under the engine. 8O :?: What is the best bash plate to fit onto a Brumby?...

Smoov, I'm confused by your post. The term diff ratios to me refers to the front and rear diff cogs - nothing to do with gearbox or transfer case. My Brumby has a 4 speed manual (dunno what diff ratios it has), but I would have assumed the automatic version would have different diff ratios to the ma...

Thanks. :D

One thing I'm not sure about is if it's okay to run with the standard diff ratios, or if I should change them due to the 27" rubber?

What's your thinking about this?

I'll post a pic of the brumby in the next day or so. Who here is an active member of the QLD subaru club?
