My whole family is coming on the trip. :)

On-road or off-road, we don't really care - the weather forecast is for a wonderful day so we're looking forward to a pleasant Sunday drive. My son has even invited his girlfriend along.

Jack... On what exactly do u want more info on?? the suspension or the lift kit? Dave Not for me, both my subies are lifted and already got suspension upgrades. I was thinking that this wrenching day might be a great opportunity to make a top-notch Noddy's guide to doing lifts and suspensions. It'd...

Engine is 1989 model EA81, and has done 330,000km.

New waterpump went in today. It's got a couple of leaky engine seals which will be fixed sometime in August, but otherwise it's a reliable engine and still going strong.

I'm simply not sure what's the most appropriate oil for it.

Sounds like a great idea, and I hope the wrenching day goes well for you all. If you're able to do so, could you post up some pics of the transformation as a step-by-step procedure? :)

I adjusted my profile's time settings to GMT+10 but it doesn't seem to be working properly. Could an administrator please adjust the clock? Thanks,

I may be wrong, but I thought Subaru engines didn't tolerate ethanol blended fuel very well. Engine pinging and reduced power.

Oils ain't Oils - EA81

I'm wondering about which oil is the best for use in an EA81. At the moment my engine has some oil in it but I have no idea what it is (synthetic / mineral / semi-synthetic / viscosity).

What would you use in an EA81 and why?

(serious replies only please)

A few weeks ago I had lots of trouble starting my ea81. I initially thought it was related to a water crossing I did the day before, but the problem turned out to be a disconnected hose. Upper Ormeau tracks

A thread on Outerlimits mentioned that Ormeau had an excavator and bulldozers through it last week and now the upper tracks are gone. Some speculation that it was done by real estate developers. 8O Anyone know if this is accurate info? http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modules/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t...

Maybe you can use a pre-made Toyota 80 series LandCruiser wiring loom? IPF and Pirahna both market this loom, and then you could easily run higher wattage bulbs.
