SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED I cant tell you all how much this has been doing my head in. Has been going on for like 2 years almost. I did a trip to Moreton Island and went through the fun of a Blue Slip etc. So it was ok to pass all this but was certainly not right. And when the...

Yeah happens hey. Can be fun to find some of these seemingly simple issues if your not used to trouble shooting issues. I had a loose neg battery terminal a few years back that was eating into the anode. Looked fine until I took it off to find the anode all pitted. Another car had the NRMA out three...

So I have a S2 Manual carb touring wagon its an 88 body. Captively nutted. I attempted a fix but was not quite as thorough as your job Bennie ;) So I buys a S1 85 touring wagon is great nic, had 126K. But its an auto, push button 4wd single range. Both cars were white. So I does the manual conversio...

Thanks for the replies guys. I think the carb engine'd cars had 23 spline, EFI 25. 3.7 vs 3.9 was a bit all over the place from what I have read. Dwayneb, not sure on the single vs dual range. Most likely to be option/model related. Steptoe Im glad to hear you have a 87 (S2) in a 85 (S1) shell. That...

L series G Box differences (S1 to S2)
Is there a difference between L series manual gearboxes S1 to S2?
See this add. They state its for "1987 onwards only". But why, whats the diff? 1987 would be the start of S2 of the L's.
Secondly if the Gbox "ïs" different, so too must be some other part, cross members, chassis etc?

Is this like yours? Yep that's about it Gannon. Mine is the ST1205134 to be exact. The only thing I can think is that the plumber put a 4800W element in when the stat died the first time. Was a replace both just in case type event. But he broke the original element getting it out. Anyway, the fuse ...

I would call the supply Authority (Ausgrid? Endeavour?) and get your ripple control relay looked at if the thermostat isn't obviously broken. Ask them if they could install a time clock as these very rarely fail. It will also be free if the fault is found to be with the relay and they provide a war...

Sparky here. How are the thermostats blowing? Are they melting or catching fire, or just ceasing to work? Does the little red overheat/reset button pop out? What temperature do you have them set at? Is the thermostat hard up against the tank? Take a photo and I'll see if I can spot something obviou...

Hot water tanks thermostat keep blowing
I have a 215L Dux branded hotwater electric tank. 240V, single 4800W element. Its about 3 years old and about to have its 4th thermostat installed. What is causing the thermostats to blow? What I do know: The fuse box has a switch (lever: on and off) and a single 20A breaker that does not trip. I pu...

Seals for camshaft and the blue o rings for cam seal holders too Yeah good point Steptoe. The cam seal holders are a aluminium part that resides under the cam sprockets. 3 x 10mm bolts take the cam wheel off, another 3 x 10mm bolts will see the cam seal holder off. From the back of this part there ...
