I've used the round noses of a pair of multigrips adjusted to the required width. Worked fine. Though I've had the rubber want to not turn with the piston, twisting it and threatening to rip. Quarter turn then a small one eighth in the wrong/back direction each turn seemed to keep it straight. Sent ...

The belts are pretty easy to adjust with only the fans removed too. Least on an EA82. Before my last trip (2500k) I tightened up my belts which have about 50'000k on them. Made the lifters that little bit quieter and ran considerably smoother at idle. Oil was not due so was not done. Well worth the ...

I would rock up at driveline services at archerfield first thing tomorrow. They will have a shaft in stock. not too far out of your way either. Barge at 8am Monday. Will leave a message for them. Try and contact Trevor (subybrumby) he's up that way and sure to have some spare bits, or know where a ...

Emergency Toowoomba QLD area L drive shaft
Hi Guys I urgently need an L series 4WD front drive/universal shaft. Today only. Tomorrow I'm headed to Moreton Island and my front drive shaft boot where it bolts to the body is shagged. Under high load its flogging all over the place. I have a spare at home but that's 1000K away. Happy to drive 10...

I like to gear down a lot when slowing for lights and more aggressively when cornering on tight windy roads. I bought a mint 5yro liberty MY96 back in 2001, had 70k on it. At 280k the clutch was squeely (throw out bearing?) And the flywheel was very badly warped. Would shudder excessively when u fir...

Nice update there mate. Good comp on the two surfaces. Gives others an idea to what they might gain and expect should they do the same. I have a Q though. How would Jr effect sand driving (non LSD). I'm not sure why but u cant visualize it being beneficial having the bar off in heavy sand. Anyone tr...

Hey Peter, Assuming the Brumby is same as L Series: Gently pry the horn cover off the wheel. Its not bolted/screwed in. The will be a single small wire connecting to the back of it. Unplug that and set aside. The wheel itself is held on by the large 14mm? Nut on splined steering column. Undo the nut...

For the battery 50mm2 is a little on the large size. Pretty sure my stock L is about the 21-25mm2 mark. Though they are OK they are not excessive either. If your lengthing the cable length by a foot or two/half m the bigger might be in order. I'd say anything over 30mm2 or equivelant is overkill. No...
