Brumby Tyres - What Size

I've got a 91 Brumby ute and it's due for 2 new tyres (stock standard rims all round). At the moment I have 175/75 13" tyres all round. A quick ring around town today chasing new tyres from the 4 local tyre dealers reveals that 175/75 13's are not in stock and hard to come by BUT all of them can fit...

Rims for a 91 brumby

Hi guys,
I've got a 91 brumby with stock standards steel rims and am looking for a set of white sunrasia ones secondhand. 1) are they easy to come across? and 2) if I find a 91 wagon with the ones I like at the wrieckers will they fit my ute?

Welsh plugs - what size? How many? (EA81 Brumby)

Hi Guys,

Quick question - I'm about to replace the welsh plugs in my 1991 Brumby on the drivers side (with the assistance of someone who has done them before!).

What size plugs do I need and how many?

Thanks
Robbo :)

I thought I'd follow up my first lesson in changing drive shaft boots. Q) What did I learn! A) Never, never again will I do that! It would have been an easier job it seems if my front drive shaft was "standard" or "original" and came with the flimsy wire clip located 5mm in and a cage with ball bear...

... I just can't seem to seperate the cup from the gear box even with steering full lock to the right (and the pin removed of course!).

Is their something I am missing here? Do I need to stick a crow bar in their and force the cup from the gear box or should it be slipping of quite easily?

Thanks for the advice guys.

I'll finish the job tomorow after work. It's defintly messy but I like working on stuff myself where ever possible - all good learning experiece even if that learning experice means next time I think twice and send it to the mechanic! LOL

Darn it ... I've gone too far now... stupid frustrating thing! Took the old boot off and then realised just how annoying this job is going to be. Not sure where to go from here with it?? Will be calling into repco tomorrow (car pooling with the wife) and ordering the Gregorys! If you have time MUDRA...

Manual thermo fan override switch (91 brumby)

I am trying work out how I install a swicth in my Brumby that will over ride the thermo switch but I still want the thermo option. ... If I splice a wire onto the wire that leads to the thermo swith on the radiator - then run that wire to an on/off swith in the cab - which completes the circut (grou...

Good, that sounds promising (tought I'd have to pull a heap of stuff off to get to it). I'll get a better look after work tonight when I start the job!

Replacing CV Boot (91 Brumby) Oh no...now what do I do?

... So here I am about to jump in the deep end again (well pretty deep for me and my mechainical experiences) with my Brumby. Last week I noticed the top CV boot on the RHS has split and is spitting grease everywhere so that means time to replace the boot (I was warned that being a brumby owner I wo...

I went down the wreckers this arvo and pulled a suitably small overflow bottle of a wreck. Sits nicely where the jack used to live and now the jack is under the pass seat. Fingers crossed my coolant loss problems are over. Thanks again for all the hints guys, they all make owning this little thing a...

Does any one know if the brumbies came with overflow bottles in the first place? It has the hose hanging down but I can't see anywhere that a bottle would have gone. ... so anyway I reckon its a trip to the wreckers this arvo to find a bottle and some longer rubber hose so that I can fit it somewher...

Brumby – Do I blame the radiator cap for loss of coolant?

The 1991 brumby I just bought came with a new brand new shiny radiator cap with the words ‘Return System’ and the number 90 stamped into the cap. That’s all good … but my brumby is NOT fitted with a radiator coolant return system bottle and therefore seems to loose coolant. I reckon I’ve eliminated ...

Thanks for the advice. I'll take you up on the offer of more advice if my auto electrician has any bad news about the A/C today, they are generally pretty good.

All sounds like great advice.
Yeah but throw in an override switch on the dash too .. that way if it's REALLY cold you can turn them off. Or better yet have a switch to switch it between "always on" and the thermo switch.

Cheers,

Robbo
