I had a lib wagon that i put forester rims and 215/60/16s on when i had Air suspension and i did exactly what ppl are saying. wheel spacers of about 8mm from memory and then "massaged" with a hammer till they cleared.

Dont know how to Quote ppl. Brumbyrunner wrote. But your a/c wouldn't work without the compressor running. Why not just leave the a/c on? I had a lifted Liberty with Legacy conversion and i set up a switch on the A/C compressor so that i could turn the A/C on in the car like normal but then turn the compressor off.
