Re: Red Targa Brumby
Open the taps on those 2 cylinders and light them up, you will have no need for a turbo, the boost from them will be enormous. They should light up like the JATO boosters on the American Blue Angles Hercules aircraft. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWSultjYpSU - fast forward to the 0.44 sec ...

So the proverbial s**t was trumps, the moment you went over the top of the dune and saw the track bend left.
Not a nice feeling.

Re: Silverbullets' resto: Engine, gearbox, suspension
Had a trio of jackass Jeeps in front of me at one point playing silly buggers with each other and ignoring the traffic chaos behind them  So next overtaking lane I may or may not have gotten over 140 km/h to get past them all :mmm: Not before one of them pulled into the overtaking lane right ...

Re: Dents ...
The Dent puller has worked so far, but is a bit messy / tricky to apply with hot glue sticking to everything & if your'e not carefull will burn fingers ... + if the paint is not well laid down it will also lift, have a bit more work to do & will post some after shots when I get round to it ....

Re: Have a safe & Merry Christmas!
Trip to Japan - sick! That’s one country of two that I’m keen to visit at some point! Sounds like you had a wicked time with a white Christmas too  We did have a great trip, but it was all over too soon. We have learned not what to do next time, one thing we did wrong was the old sin of t...

Re: Have a safe & Merry Christmas!
A belated Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everyone, we were in Japan 21/12/2025 to 01/01/2026. We had a "White Christmas" up in Hakuba the site of the 1998 Winter Olympics near Nagano, it got down to -7°C. :-) We went to Osaka (3 days) - Hakuba (4 days) & Tokyo (4 days) then back home. I never s...

Re: Another weekend away, Coorong 4WD and fishing!
Bloody filthy lazy humans, they shit me to tears. Not only do they throw or dump rubbish out where it's not wanted, they are even too lazy to walk a few metres and put shopping trollies into the collection bays. Yet they are the first ones to scream blue murder if a trolley scratches or dents their ...

Re: Advice re a 2005 Forester
Manuals are hard to come by these days. Just advertise it as something like: For Sale "As Is" condition. 2005 Forester X - XS - XT or whatever model it is. Done XXX,XXX kms NOTE - engine has a spun bearing. Body is in good condition, list all defects ie. dents - scratches - signs of rust. List any a...

Re: Advice re a 2005 Forester
Is it manual or auto?
You could replace the engine with a 2nd hand one ($2,000?), if you want the hassle, and then sell it, or sell it as is and let the buyer deal with the engine problem.
Either way somebody will buy it at the right price, if the body is as good as you say it is.

Thanks for the pics Bantum, looked like a fun day except for the minor scratches, which we can all do without unless we have a true bush basher.

Owner has posted some pics of the car in the same link as my above post.
It looks like a nice vehicle, I owned a 2003 SG Forester for 13 years, great car and no problems.

Subyroo you should be banned for a comment like that! :P It’s nothing like the mighty MY wagon! You should know that. This is said all in jest, nothing serious if it didn’t come through in the text ;) SB - apparently you can get new torsion rods from the states. They’re uprated and apparently reall...

Re: Cars Seen For Sale
Just saw an Ad for 2003 Forester on OffroadSubaru Forum: https://offroadsubarus.com/threads/9315/ Reluctantly I am selling my 03 Forester as it is time to let someone else enjoy this beast. I have owned the Foz since new and it has been an amazing car. EJ2.5 NA engine with approx 220k. No rust. Manu...

Intake valves is stamped 1251, can't make out anything on the exhaust. JDM hydraulic valves seem to be very difficult to find now. Haven't even found a parts manual yet. Stingrae, have a look at the first 2 links in this link... https://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=30531 the manuals are th...
