Re: What’s everyone up to these days?

Wagonist, is the JDM beast factory no mods? Call the tech standards guys 1300.137.302 and tell them your predicament and ask the procedure they expect the AUVIS inspector to take It's had the airbag shocks swapped out for normal ones. I've also got 4x114.3 redrilled hubs fitted, but I have another ...

Re: What’s everyone up to these days?

Still in Sydney. Still got the project rust free touring wagon shell I bought 15 years ago and still haven't finished!!! Recently sold my Caldina and drive around in a 99 Corolla. been trying to find time to get the JDM import turbo touring wagon to a point where it could be registered, but keep spe...

Re: Brake upgrade that retains 4x140PCD questions

Sorry, only just noticed this. I haven't done anything with the front brakes. For the rear, I simply replaced the subaru caliper with the Honda one into the Subaru caliper carrier. I think there was a bit of trimming to the pad guides. I've never finished it off properly though. Had some custom brak...

Re: The "I wants" thread

Thought I’d revive this thread with a few bits. I’ve done pretty well with getting what I want with Ruby Scoo so far. And as for that touring wagon in the first post, the guy offered it to me for $300 or something but I turned it down as I’d just got the brumby. Spewing I could take it on - and I s...

Re: WRX EJ20 Turbo into L-Series Wagon

The first thing I'm going to suggest is to redo the brake lines for the rear. You've attached a hardline to a movable part (the caliper). The original line fitted to the backing plate of the drum which was fixed. It's not much of a movement, but over time that will flex and fatigue. Do you want your...

Thanks for the info about the clutch.

I hope the car went to a good home. Will we see it again on here?

which gearstick did you use? This one had the WRX stick and a shortened linkage.

Any pics of hydro clutch setup?

yeah, that's the plate that's missing.
I've got complete interiors, just no wagon ever came with a black one, and none of the series 2's were black either. RX turbo in later models (have only seen US versions) are a straight light grey

The GT/ii I bought was for sale for a long time. It was nearly 8 months between when I first inspected it to picking it up. It's missing it's original JDM compliance tag (PITA) which doesn't help. The interior is pretty tired and needs work. Wondering which would have more value. The original grey i...

biggest issues are the hydraulic clutch and getting the shifter to work. The EJ converted RX turbo I bought 15 years ago need the trans tunnel cut out a bit for the shifter linkage to fit through, put a gaping hole put in the firewall to mount up the clutch setup. It was done really poorly and was a...

haha. I actually bought the shell back in 04, so it's now 14 years... It sits in my carport out of the weather. WRX running gear is gone. Swapped it with a mate for a spider manifold EA82. He's been trying to sell it as the project he was going to use it for got sold. So now he's been trying to sell...

I wonder though if an EJ conversion would "ruin" it? In the US with more of them, not so much, but rare here. Was toying buying the wrecked one in Adelaide, but I've got too many projects :p, and now a kid (though he's almost at the age of climbing into the seat himself...)

So what vehicles do those transmissions belong to? I always thought it was only the late 90s 2L Impreza sportswagon that had the "good" low range. Been half contemplating putting a diesel in my touring wagon project, but they only came with a single range 6 speed. Might need a bit of screwing around...

I know this is an old thread, but thought there should be some correction.
Not only available on touring wagons. Some "GL" spec 91 onwards wagons had them as an option.

Just an update I will be removing the air suspension from my black Vortex (looks good super low at the moment when its not bolted to the rear axle). If I'm going to sell the air suspension how much would they be worth and also where is the control box for it or is it in the ECU? Been away for awhil...
