My Gen 3 Outback was fine until I needed a new clutch and replaced the dual mass flywheel with a solid one. I noticed straight away the gearbox making more noise under acceleration and jerking when going down hills in low gears or backing off the accelerator. Sometimes it would also jerk a little un...

Good to see you got a Brumby. Is the dash I sold you going in the Brumby or the wagon? Still have my Brumby for sale even though I don't want to part with it but I have to.

Sell For Sale 92 Brumby

I'm selling my 1992 Brumby as I no longer have the need for a second car. In the four years of ownership the car has only done 16,000km and was in storage for two years before I purchased it. I have added a 2in lift kit, 14in wheels with new tyres, alarm and central locking. It has the factory bull ...

The best option for doing the sports dash conversion is using the main wiring loom for the doner car. I looked at doing this to mine and got some of the parts to do it but it got put on hold.

It has been a long time but I finally have the problem sorted. I tried bridging the pressure switch which did not work and lot of other different things but did not have a wiring diagram. Took it to an auto electrician today who found an inline fuse by the battery and near the headlight faulty. It d...

I have an 02 Outback. So far the the only issues I have had was the centre diff at around 140,000km then the original clutch decided to finally give up at 184,000km recently. I got rid of the dual mass flywheel at the time and cost me around $1100. The centre diff was around $1600 for replacement an...

Depends which diff you are talking about. If it is the centre diff/ viscous coupling you are looking at around $1400 for the new part from Subaru. You cannot get reconditioned ones. Subaru will charge about $200 in labour cost to replace it.

The right side fan cuts in for the engine temperature but the left hand side fan no longer work at all. Both fans always used to cut in at the same time.

Brumby Radiator Fans

Hi all,

I have a 92 Brumby and both radiator fans used to cut in at the same time. The air-con used to work also at the same time. The air-con has since stopped working (out of gas) and now only the one fan cuts in. Is this related?

Cheers,
Justin

Upper Engine Cleaner

Hi all,

Just got two cans of Subaru's upper engine cleaner and was wondering how to use it on the carby engine in the Brumby. Also which vacuum line do you remove on an EJ25 (02 Outback)?

Cheers,
Justin

I was able to get a set of Gen3 Outback ones from Subaru last year. I would have thought you could still get them considering they still sell L series and Brumby parts.

I saw an Jap import Alcyone in Adelaide today. Thought it was just another Vortex at the lights until I saw the Alcyone on the side.
