WTB: [SA] EA82 Engine

Hey all,

Sadly I hydrolocked the engine in my L Series from a leaking intake gasket, ingested coolant and bent a rod. I'm putting the feelers out to see if I can get a replacement if someone has a running EA82 floating around from an EJ conversion or the like.

Cheers

What's wrong with the car? Why is it at the wreckers in the first place? I look at that and see a car I could bring back to working condition. So sad. Other parts of interest (mainly to myself) would be the springs, rear control arms with sway bar and mounts if it has them. Some of the vacuum switch...

Would that Touring wagon you now have be the EA82T that Steve from Rising Sun was selling ?;) It is indeed, JDM Leone GT Turbo Touring Wagon. Will make a start on it soon once I finish up on a couple of other non-Subaru cars I'm working on. At the moment it has a horribly high cold idle problem I n...

I used to live in car forums all the time, I was one of those people with several thousand posts and while I made quite an effort to contribute I'm sure only 1% of what I posted was truly helping further the cause. This was 10 years ago and there was no alternative at the time. Since then, life took...

Long time lurker saying hello

Greetings everyone, I'm a long time member here but have only really dropped in from time to time. I thought it was about time I said hello and shared a bit my my love for Subaru cars. So a little about me, I've been an avid car enthusiast for over a decade now and began with playing around with 80'...

Someone mentioned replacing inner CVs before, I've never seen replacement inner CVs for sale anywhere and CV places refuse/lie/don't want to sell me any. Outer CVs are everywhere on eBay but no inners. So where do you get your inner CVs from?

Just thought I would follow up on this, I have now sold the car but this problem never came back again for me so it seems it solved the poor idle problem I had.

EJ22 Ignition Relay Replacement Guide

Hi all, After going down the very long and expensive road of troubleshooting of why my EJ22 would idle on 3 cylinders I found the issue to be the (infamous) Jideco ignition relay. Many hours of searching showed this as a common issue but the only resolution I've seen so far was to replace it with an...

Okay, just as a follow up, I'm pretty confident I've solved my poor idle problem. It was the Ignition Relay and I have come up with a solution where you can replace the Jideco relay with a pair of aftermarket relays and it seems to work nicely. I will write up a guide on how to do this and post it i...

Some new, some from a clean, known working Liberty I have. I've been taking off spare parts from that car and putting them on the one that's playing up to rule out that part.

I had a read, but I don't seem to find how it's related? It covers a converted EJ22 running an auto ECU on a manual without a check engine light hooked up. Their problem was stalling, mine doesn't stall - it idles on 3 cylinders and jumps to 4 once the revs pick up beyond a certain point.

It's on a factory stock 89 Liberty Auto. 300,000 kms. Only had the car a few years and it hasn't run much over that time, I bought it with this problem already in place but it's not the first Liberty I've owned. It doesn't feel fuel related so much as it does spark related, but I'll humour anything ...

Okay I've removed the ignition relay and it seems to test fine. I've since found an epic thread on USMB about how it's some sort of electrical noise to the ECU. There is no follow up on how to fix it but man what a colossal PITA.

For the record the Gregory's manual says that they are supposed to have 560k ohm resistance. But they are notorious for cracking, replacing it was a good idea.

Anyone? I've gone through a crap ton of problem solving to find this bastard, I seem to have very much the same problem that stamp_licker mentioned where it only idles on 3 cylinders. It seem to be a slightly common issue as all the scraps of info I find online have similar symptoms: - Idles on 3 cy...

The injectors have been cleaned and are firing, the seems to b spark as well bit it may be weak. I tried to check the ignition relay today but it's in a g...
