Been there, done that, shot the video and bought the T shirt. However I did mine with the correct wheels, not the front ones.

I do have to commend them on their ingenious wheel chock though. Great stuff :).

Looks fairly repairable to me... its not unlicensed yet either. Could be a cheap step up into a Liberty for someone who's keen enough.

I've still got it, problem is it doesn't really fit down under the back where I want it. It's width used to cause some surge problems too in high speed cornering... for offroading I am thinking this might be a problem too. Probably worth modifying the one I have rather than building a new one from s...

Damn, should've got you to make me one.

I paid the guy who's making mine back in August and he still hasn't done it yet. I might still get you to make me one if you're keen Jay.

The L series EFI system is perfectly capable of running an NA EJ in stock form. I've even seen EJ20G's run on EA82 MPFI fuel pumps.

The second method won't work at all. Basically what you're trying to achieve in an EFI system is a pressure zone between the EFI pump and the regulator at the end of the fuel rail. You want adequate fuel pressure and flow to suit the injectors. If you're using a surge tank this would be my recommend...

I think at the least you'll need to remove the timing cover, belt and cam gear. Possibly more stuff if its in the way.

Provided you can route the air intake over to the passenger side, the LN106 Hilux one works well, as per Hatchie.

Not a huge amount of modification to fit one to a stocker though.... you guys should see what they do to get 100 series ones to fit on 100 series!

At least you were in the Falcon, your L series would have been a bit more crumpled than that.

That and Falcons are very easy to find and replace. Good to hear noone was hurt.

I daresay its dry sumped.

I seem to remember seeing this engine on Foxtel a couple of years back. Hyundai make similar engines too, funnily enough.

Totally not worth it. Come take another look at my wagon's chassis rails... there's a lot more taken out than is needed for EJ. Not that I regret your job on the chassis rails, they do clear the EJ turbo motor quite well, although the cut on the LH side goes back for miles!!! And at the end of the d...

With a 2" lift kit you should easily be able to fit the WRX master cylinder in, you'll have to enlarge the hole that the speedo cable normally goes through to about 33-34mm. Then flatten the firewall area a little with a knockometer and then use the heatshield retainer plate as a template to drill t...

If it counts for anything, there's a reason most manufacturers changed to ribbed belts from V belts. They can transmit more power before slipping, can drive on both sides of the belt to a degree and run cooler than V belts.

I'd try stick with the ribbed belts if possible.

I'd definitely do whats already been said and use a generic filter.

Z168 and Z200 are common and cheap filters.

Sorry I can't offer any real help on this one, all my EJ gearbox conversion knowledge is with hydraulic clutches. I know of a place in Perth that makes custom flexible drive cables including clutch and accelerator cables. Maybe you can find a place that does similar work closer to you. Failing that,...
