Excellent - another one wiley in the ways of A-series oil leaks and Lucas, Prince of Darkness electricals. Well there you go - I have learnt my thing for the day in that I didnt know that the EA engines have 3 bearing mains...All good. Mini motors are a contancerous beast - at least the Subaru motor...

I should fix up balancing and say blueprinting. I think this is the biggest furfy a motor rebuilder can spin you as a consumer. My father was a mech engineer and made all of his engine components for both cars and trucks(cummins/DD and the likes - enitire crankshafts from a six foot long, 600kg lump...

Just watch bagging companies here - a forum I am in over here is in the death throes due to bad mouthing a business online - costing the owner of the site thousands(although a fair comment) Race motors are built to run a finite life...they are "race" motors and a built as such to run as hard as they...

I believe the issue with spacers is it creates extra load on the bearings. If you use a rim with a -'ve offset and spacers, but use the stock wheel studs, you should be ok (I'm going to try this argument on VicRoads shortly as I am fitting a Borg-Warner XG Falcon diff under my VG Valiant and if I u...

Just get rid of them and save your $300 - I recently had my windshield replaced and they used supa doopa black sticky poop and a generic window sealing rubber strip. Was a bit of a hassle getting the WS back in but it will never move.

make sure you get something with 14's though. Such as the one above. You can get them pretty cheap now. $2500 for a car weith 350k is abit steep in my eyes. alex What have you got against 13' wheels hey!!! Bloody discriminating against us that choose to go 13 inch!! Jokes aside - I am on the look-o...

I would offer the dealer 1500 for that with the extremely high KM(thats the redbook on the model)

If he wont budge and you are keen...get it checked thoroughly and then slug the dealer with getting it up tio speed - for that price I think it would be only fair.

Nice car though...hope all goes well

run it with no thermostat at all to rule it out as a problem Just be careful you dont fry the rear-most piston on the passenger side without the thermostat as you will get a hotspot on the back of the block. Try it but make sure it is only for diagnostics otherwise you will fry the motor:???: I wou...

Yepp - unfortunately 70 pounds of high explosive(desensitized RDX/Amatol) will make your day a little more interesting - not to mention 25 rounds a minute...or an FFG(frigate) can put 120 rounds a minute on the same ground...lots of fun... That said - I am still keen as mustard once I am ov...

Nooooo - ten you may end up with a bigger chunk in there:) Easy outs are all well and good however break one off and you end up with a high tensile problem as well... I have a dremel with a carbide tip I use to slot busted studs and astray bolts. It is fiddly work and very very slow however once slo...

Hey Mooney, If your going to be playing with the water pump you might as well see to the oil pump too, there's not a lot more work involved to do it from that point. Cheers Bennie While you are at it...you may as well check everything in there too. Do the water pump, L and R idler pulleys(check and...

Lifters is more of a tick but be wary of your idler bearings as they make a knock. Seize one of these puppies and car will come to a dead stop(snapped timing belt). The lifter issue will go away with regular flushing of the oil and use a semi synth(stay away from the full mineral as the stuff has wa...
