Fixed starting problem, it always had this issue since I bought it a few weeks ago, I thought it was bad fuel... but no......

I have a subaru XT 1986 with the ea82 turbo, exact same problem...
Surging and hesitation sometimes, very noticble under full throttle from around 2800-3500 rpm or so, then it goes away above 3500rpm...

I made a thread about it upder troubleshooting also.
Will be watching this thread.

Ok I will look into tracing starting wire back to ECU.
Yes it runs rich and puffs blacksmoke out until I get the engine cleared out (sometimes not always).

Nevermind, found problem. Dont need to change bearings.

Just want to make sure of something:
Is it possible to remove oil pan then:
Remove rod caps and change bearings with oilpan removed or do you have to remove engine from car and split the shortblock?
