i wanna put a short shifter in my 2003 subaru impreza rs and i was wondering if anyone knew of a quality brand of short shifter?

i'm going to purchase some rims for my rs and i don't want the old dark brake calipers showing through so i was wondering if there's a way to upgrade the existing calipers to the red sti ones? is it a major job or is it just a matter of swapping calipers?
