its not just R12 and R134A that are illegal to vent. Most refridgerants have some legal issues attached to them these days. LPG is the only one that you can vent but alot of people don't believe in putting it in their cars for fear they might explode ..... works reeeally good tho.

cheers guys, umm that type of flare has a tag on the bottom of the rubber to when you place it against the car, the tag sits just under the lip of the guard. Then you just screw it on with as many screws as you need. It seems to hold pretty well tho.
