I only picked mine up the night before last after it sitting for 5 months, I always disconnect the battery, it started first kick like every time I leave it for months at a time.

Just take it to the nearest servo and fill it with 98 asap, once the fuels mix you should be fine as they will bring your octane reading up

I just use a Navman in my Transit as like most speedo's it's about 7% out, $69 from the good guys with free updates for life and has a shit load of other uses.

Sounds like your alternator/power steering belts need tightening, they usually squeal like a stuck pig on start up if they are too loose.

If it is the starter make sure you get the right one as auto and manual are different, anything out of an Impreza or Forester will also fit, turbo or n/a

Just a tip, never use WD40 or any type of oil based lubricant, always use soapy water as it dries without leaving an oily residue, you could end up spinning your wheel in your rim.
