I am a wee bit flexible on the date at this point but thus far - am keen

My Wife and I are intending to join this trip. We are travelling from Sydney to meet up somewhere.

Bringing our MY99 stocker Outback - and a tent.

STI versions and SVX's are 114.3x5
That should be "LATER" STi versions and SVX...

I think that they changed the STi from MY06 onwards??

Before that they were the same as all the other 5 stud Subarus at 5x100.

SVX also has RH and LH wheels.

I think it's a bit early for "definite". June 2010 is still over a year away. There's a whole lot that can happen and change people's plans between here and there. As for "interested and prepared to begin planning" - you can count me in under those rules. Some details I live in Western Sydney I can ...

Great news So ... ... If I don't bring a trailer, how do I safely mount the a spare fuel jerry and a couple of spare rims to the roof racks?? I really wouldn't like to have to fit them plus camping gear and a fridge and three weeks worth of food and clothes inside the car. I would have thought a lig...

OK - a lot of you guys have lifted and toughened vehicles. I don't. And I don't want to modify my Outback to that sort of extent. There are loads of stories of standard vehicles making the trip. My Outback is standard and is a manual with hi/lo range. I would love to do a trip to the cape and the op...

All 4 cylinder XT Coupes - Vortex here - had the ugly 140mm pcd.

The XT6 runs the same pcd as most modern Subarus. You do need to be careful. SVX and the last of the STi WRX before the new shape had a differnt PCD to the rest.

I am also hunting a rear garnish for one of these. Ideally in unbroken condition.

My son and I did the rebuild ourselves. He did most of the work - I just lent a hand where necessary. We did pay someone to paint it though.

Dead right - never came here at all.

The one I know about was personally imported from Japan a couple of years ago.

There are a few in NZ. Mostly because of their freer second hand import regs.

The only place they sold RHD XT6s new was in Japan.

Not as easy as you might think. The engine is longer (DUH!!!) and the car has a different radiator support which is further forward. Having said that - have a look at frankenwedge on that site. It has an EJ33 3.3 litre 6 out of an SVX stuffed in there. I think the only other XT6 in the country to th...

I know someone who does. There are only a couple of these in the country that I know of. RHD ones are very hard to come by. These only sold in Japan. LHD ones were fairly popular in the US of A and most of those have rusted away by now. There is a strong following there at http://subaruxt.com/ . You...

I have an idea that these do not simply "push in". You actually need to "screw" them in. I seem to remember that there are some cutouts which fit the factory tool and which simply winds them in.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyone have a Gen 3 Wagon being parted?

Don't ask me why but I need a Right Hand Rear seatbelt for my Outback. A black coloured one would be just perfect. And one without any fraying at all. I don't need the strap with the buckle. I just need the bit hidden in the side and that comes over the shoulder. Obviously not a belt that has been r...

I only know about it because I saw it on EBay and having a blue Vortex in the build, it caught my eye. Ours has the original (although not in our particular car) EA82T. Did you look at that one?

I also have an RS Turbo - great car!

If I recall correctly - and I think I do - These rims were specifically made in an oddball metric size to specifically prevent regular tyres fitting the rims. This was because they were designed as an early type of "run flat" design where the bead remained in contact with the rim in the event of a d...
