Change password?

Hi All, been away for a little bit(!) and only just started on the new board today, but couldn't remember my old password and had to do a reset. My question is though, where do I go to change my current password? I couldn't find it at all in the user profile. :?:

For $1700 surely they've replaced the centre diff and not just the bearings, but in my case that would've been a waste of money as there was and still is nothing wrong with my centre diff. Ended up costing about $210 for all 4 bearings (2 on output shaft and 2 on diff shaft), 2 gaskets and a rear ma...

That price includes 5 hours labour and a new viscous coupling, but I'm not convinced the latter is necessary. It costs a little under $1500 just for that part. Other than that there's only 2 bearings, new oil and a gasket.

Wait, hang on that shows the front diff and section of gearbox doesn't it? I was talking about a bearing in the centre diff / transfer case, for which I assume you only need to remove the rear section of the gearbox? If it turns out not to be a bearing in there, then that other picture should come i...

Backyardable?

Oh, and would this be a relatively easy backyard job to pull down the transfer case or just to swap it out with a replacement unit?

Centre diff bearing noise?

I'm having a bearing or gear type noise in the front of my GEN4 Liberty, only seems to be road speed related and have ruled out tyres. A Subaru dealer diagnosed it for me today as the bearings in the centre diff and quoted me around $2.4k to fix, but no details on parts and labour breakdown as yet. ...

Clutch pedal not returning?

What would cause a clutch pedal in an MY01 Outback not to return (or spring back) sometimes? I can't recall if it's a cable or hydraulic clutch but i think it has a hill holder.

Is there a return spring or perhaps master cylinder rod sticking?

They all look in pretty good condition to me. Just can't work out why especially the second remote doesnt work now and it's on my spare key, as in it almost never gets used, you'd assume that if one is used all the time then it'd maybe get dicky contacts. The one that is working now is working consi...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure all the Subarus with window antennas have boosters. I'm thinking it might be the problem.

Remote central locking - weirdness

OK, so I've been having some weirdness happen with my remote central locking in my MY07 Liberty. The last couple of weeks it's been playing up and sometimes I have to press the buttons a few times, or unlock and then lock etc before it works, so I figured that when it stopped working altogether I sh...

i was asking if its aftermarket because the subarus with window antennas actually have two antenna plugs and aftermarket stereos only have one. I have seen it before where one has only been used rather than getting a joiner. alex I put an aftermarket one in my MY02 Liberty and made up a harness to ...

Haven't checked the connections yet, It's never been pulled out so I'd assume it to be fine, but will probably have a look now just to rule it out. I'll just have to dig up my Factory Service manual wherever I put it.

Yeah standard one. It's really heaps worse than the Outback, wondering why so. Both area rear window antennas.

Poor radio reception in fringe areas

The stereo in my MY07 Liberty has noticeably poor (staticy) FM radio reception in the fringe reception areas compared to our Outback and previous models I've owned, just wanted to know if anyone has come across the problem and had it sorted, or not. Subaru couldn't fault it during a recent service b...

I have wanted to do the s***box rally, it looks like awesome fun! good way to see a bit of Aus, meet some new people and thrash an old bomb through the outback for a week or so :D. I've been changing Subaru diff oils for years and a standard 1/2" drive breaker bar is usually all you need. It's actually a 13mm square drive hole, but sadly that'll make no difference, we can't generate enough torque to undo it without breaking stuff. The 13mm square drive tool isn't easily source...

Rear Diff Cover 2007 Outback

After much time trying and some broken (3/4" drive stuff) & twisted (extensions and 3/4" to 1/2" reducer) tools it's become apparent that the fill plug on the rear diff of our 2007 Outback is never, ever coming out. So, can you replace the rear cover without completely removing the diff from the veh...
