The A/C fans in liberty's are dual brush, one brush set is for A/C operation and the other is engine cooling. The ecu switches the fan relays from fan 1 and 2 outputs(grounds). On gen 1 and 2 the A/C system is wired so both fans come on if A/C is fitted but only fan 2 will be switched for engine coo...

Yes all Gen 3 have the tone wheel on the CV afaik. Impreza and Forester also followed suit in around 2000. I have replaced the front hubs and shafts on a gen 3 with early WRX when doing a turbo conversion and the ABS ecu was happy the old tone wheels so despite the design change thay are still doing...

Early Fozza's have a different engine to the MY99's. It is a plastic manifolded, cheap ecu'd version of an early 2.0 impreza. The MY99 engine is much better. 97/8's are slow, most notably in auto form. Early Fozza's are cheap, not $500 cheap but still cheap. They should be around the price of outbac...

It a 96 according to the select monitor. The wiring is spliced, harness swaps are impractical IMO. It is reasonably involved to rewire, mainly because of the way early TT's wiring is layed out(the harness goes out through all 4 wiring exit points and is 2 piece where it goes out into the drivers gua...

Pin C9 is infact solely to turn the ECU air con fan off so it can be over rid by the air con wiring... idle goes up for about 1 second then returns to normal. Dave How do you figure this? That's a pretty big conclusion to come to based on the little info you seem to have. The idle up for the AC isn...

The EG33 is the better motor in my opinion as it has more displacement and a better exhaust manifold setup. Just double checked - it is an 8/2004 Forester XS and it has an electonic throttle. I'm not saying the EG33 isn't a good engine, it is. I am saying that it isn't a better engine than an EZ30....

Yeah, the EG33 is the better motor of the sixes too. The 2.5 in my parent's MY04 Forester XS is an SOHC EJ25, apart from the electronic throttle actuator and a few other tiny bits it looks exactly the same as my sister's 1993 Lib EJ22. How can the EG33 be better than an EZ30? The EZ is a 10 year ne...

Early alternators have a 4 pin round plug, they require sensing wire, light and an ignition feed to charge, the 4th wire is for Jap cars for some kind of ecu control. 2 Plug ecus are much more reliable and charge higher at idle. It is a simple job to replace an early alt with a 2 pin gen 2 alt(bolt ...

That isn't the right one Chris, that is for an MY99 TT. There is also MY97/98(two different ecus auto and manual) between that and the one that cogwheel wants. Chris, if your ecu has a seperate transmission control then it is the same as the one cogwheel wants. MY97/8 auto has a PCM that looks like ...
