It should have a cat. Subaru had them before they were a legal requirement in Oz. You might be able to use an L series Y pipe. If you have the little block spacers immediately off the head for the EGR gear the exhaust will hang lower which usually isn’t an issue. All the best sorting this out. Chee...

From what I have researched, it looks like 1986 was when cats were required....so my question is should I have them or not...
