axle nut - tight or loose?

just did my rear drum shoes and wheel cylinders, put the drum back on and did up the nut (36 or 37 mm, big nut). I put it just more than finger tight and chucked the split pin back in. Now i've got a thrumming noise in the rear wheel and some old guy telling me you're sposed to do the big nut up rea...

Yo, Was cleaning n checking my pcv system and i broke a vacuum hose off a funny little plastic bit. My problem is I don't know the name of the component I have broken, so I don't know if it's serious (undrivable) and what to ask for at Bursons or a wreckers... I think it might be a EGR solenoid valv...

Torsion bar factory lift?

I heard from a mate that you can lift the rear of an l series wagon by turning some kinda bolt under the rear seat. Anyone done this? is it a useful feature? i will have my new (old) subie l series tomorrow, complete with cheesy eighties graphics and I can't sleep at all.
