Zombie - 90 L series sedan
Needed a temporary car until the Tank is back in action, so took a chance on a $200 L series that caught my eye on gumtree. The motor was seized and thoroughly dead though... When I got there with a trailer, I had a look from the top of the motor and all i could see was underbody spray all over ever...

Things are happening to my poor old neglected "Tank". The return of rust in a couple of areas that I fixed years ago (in the rain) has meant some stripping and upgrades are in order so I can put her back on the road. So that I have a safe and stable platform to work on I made these stands out of scr...

This is what the unit started out as. It's an HBX Rock Fighter. Fairly well engineered and good quality build, although everything needs adjustment and tuning to make it work smoothly. http://www.gamestronics.com.au/cw2/Assets/product_full/HBX-ROCKFIGHTER%20BIG.PNG The tyres have a foam insert insid...

SubaCrawler - Brumby with articulation
I bought an R/C rock crawler a couple of months ago for several reasons... Leaving it in the back of my Subaru on a scorching hot day destroyed the Hummer style body on it. So time for a DECENT body. Bought a polycarbonate Brumby/Brat shell by Tamiya, painted it up and added some details in hand cut...

No more SubieBoys
I am pulling out of the SubieBoys thing as of now. And I probably won't be hanging around this forum much anymore either, since I'll finally be doing my own thing, which is not Subaru related.

the weld looks like its glued on:) To be frank, a 100A arc welder is just useless for any but the smallest of the smallest jobs. You need 180A and more to start doing decent welding with arc. However with a MIG, a 130A welder works good for 3mm+ mild steel - the shielding gas makes all the differen...

Think about what you're trying to do and you should be able to get the job done in the end. Welding... You're trying to turn two pieces of metal into one, so melting things is what you need to do. All welding processes are the same really, as in, melt the two sides of the gap so you can combine them...

Yeah, they're probably frozen (to shrink it), glued, and put it with a really big rattle gun... But, all you need is a spare 1/4 inch drive socket, file the square shank of the plug down a little so you can hammer the socket onto it (backwards), then use an allen key in the socket to crack the threa...

Anyone that can, and wants it, should go ahead and build something better than i have for this car. I made up what was required and desired for the build. I could do far fancier and extensive fabrications, but it's about making the right part for the right purpose. As for having the time, my own car...

Thanks for that Brumby Kid, but we do our own decals. There's a few people selling original style and modified decals on eBay now. Some are overpriced, some are bargains. Thankfully we don't need to resort to that, and wait ages for them to be delivered... On top of that, the ones available online a...

I think the lengthwise rails are about 980mmfrom outside to outside. (can actually measure it tomorrow if you like). As for the shocks, yes, you can use the shocks. Mine angle back in order to make them a little less stiff for a lightweight vehicle. It handles supurbly, behind any vehicle that's tow...

It's both a safety feature and a means to acheive reliable constant pressure irrespective of engine revs. A safety feature in that, if you have an engine failure, you still have your power steering, unless you blow a fuse then things start appearing a bit silly... Electric vacuum unit for the brakes...

Surprise, surprise... My car is now fully converted to manual. Vowed I'd never do it. But busted the diff in the auto reversing up my girlfriend's driveway, when the car was fully loaded and I gave it a bit extra throttle (very steep driveway). Ripped the pinion to pieces, forced the diff sideways a...

Hey, I'll have nobody knocking cars from my town... Until I've had the honor first. LOL I only found that "cream puff, orange sherbert themed, pointless and shameful w@nker wagon that's the brainchild of an obscenely queer coma patient" on eBay after Leigh (Rosco's missus, AKA "Supreme comander") sp...
