I haven't done that much work on the EA82 although I have dabbled a little. and done enough on the old EA81's in saying that i'm in the process of rebuilding one now. But when i'm home I am in canberra so if you get stuck look me up and i'll see if i can't call around.

Is there really an EA 81 motor or both EA82s? I'm not that far away and shouldn't be interested in any more than your L alternator but because I know exactly where numeralla is and its less than 100k's away i'm keen in the EA 81 motor and L series box (if dual range. P.S. maybe able to drop parts of...

If you were down near Canberra I'd even have the parts to turn it back to stock. I'd almost be able to borrow a hoist for the changeover.

I've got a 3inch one in a brumby but it needs a shaft for the steering column.
BUT... How much are you prepared to pay, The best option is contact cr0ss**** performance as mentioned and get a new quality 50mm kit for "Cheap".

EA82 timing belts!

Anyone got any second hand ones for a bush basher that they could send to canberra.

Im just not so keen on spending nearly a hundred bucks on an engine in unknown condition especially when the car itself only cost me that!

Well it's a pity it's not winter yet. But their always well sought after in jindabyne etc, dirt cheap to run and you don't need to fit chains when working on the slopes.

An auto oil cooler (Included in the tow pack) is the go plus tyres @ 8psi with a compressor for when you get on the hard stuff. but the best thing as has been said is a companion vehicle even if you need to tow them out yourself. But a good tip is don't use the brakes just coast to a stop.
