Yeh mate there was so much noise, and clunking going on I didn't know what was going on. Im not sure what you mean by wound up tight though. Other than reducing the amount of friction points there is no way of resetting the pressure being applied. What do you think would cause the pinion gear to fou...

What about viscous options? So will a LSD from a WRX fit into a L series box?

I can only assume the changing of the plates was the solution. Maybe there was another issue with it that I managed to correct when it went back together (spring putting uneven pressure on the plates maybe?). Would love to hear the experts comments.

Once the four screws are out the diff centre will come apart in two pieces. Make sure that the flat part of diff (planetary?) is uppermost or the LSD may fall apart on you. Once off, hold your hand over the guts and flip upside down so the centre is in your hand. Place it down on one side so the pla...

Resetting Clutch Plate LSD (Cusco)

So as stated in another thread I was having a problem with my R160 Cusco LSD. The issue occurred when turning under low load. If powering in a turn, the diff would lock and I would get some tire scrub, but under parking type conditions or even turning at a set of lights, to call the vibration/clunk,...

All i can say is, dont use Top Gun plug leads on a subaru. Brand new and only done just over 100 kms and they gave out. Now running Ngk leads and all is great. Awe that sucks the big one. When you have new leads it would be so easy to discount them and try everything else under the sun. Glad to hea...

I'm thinking running a separate temperature guage will be easier and cheaper.

I'm talking about the temp guage. I am assuming the temp sensor that is buried down under the intake manifold sends info to the ECU and the guage. If I find a EA sensor and replace it won't I then have running problems?

Temp Guage EJ22 to Brumby.

Ok tomorrow appart from doing some tappit covers for a mate with a calais the next little problem to sort out is my temp guage in the little Brumby. Since changing the fuel injection rail the Brumby seems to be running beautiful. Although I am hoping my fuel guage is acting up as the few short runs ...

I took the fuel rail off the engine and it looked pretty bad on both injectors so I swapped the whole rail. 6 bolts and 20 minutes later, problem solved.

Runs smooth as silk now and the low down power is completely fixed.

Thanks heaps for all your help.

I didn't get to the diff today. However, I took it for a couple of solid runs up the road today including some tight turns on bitumen and it didn't knock once. Still the expected scrubbing of tires but no nock in the rear. Can having so much traction through the rear diff be detrimental to the centr...

Can an injector be cleaned if removed or is it likely to be stuffed altogether?
