You're certain it wasn't an EA81T engine?

The EA81 and EA82 are bolt in place of eachother mountwise.

The gearbox will mount up and the engine will bolt into the same engine mounts.

However, if you're planning on putting an EA82 into your Brumby you will run into trouble because the EA82 is marginally wider and will not fit between the chassis rails in the engine bay without modifying them.

Vivio supercharger is something I've been thinking of adapting to the carby system also. If you don't end up using the charger, pass it on! =) The PCD is 4x100 and the offset depends on the wheel width. I haven't been able to find a suitable offset yet. I currently have a set of Holden Gemini 13" wh...

My Sherpa has currently got 1 3/4" with single muffler for exhaust, K&N filter, MSD 6A for ignition, thicker plug leads, V-groove plugs, and a set of 13" mags with semi-slicks when I want to drive a gokart. It's fun to drive, next step is turbo or supercharger. Brakes work sufficiently, I doubt they...

Weird reverse issue

Hey guys, haven't posted in aaaages but I've come up with a weird issue when reversing the Brumbysaurus. No reversing in a straight line is a no brainer, but turning whilst reversing (ie parallel parking) becomes a nightmare. The gearbox decides it no longer wishes to select reverse. It is like the ...

You can get a Ramflo filter (the ones that look like bug eyes) that will fit. Don't know a part number sorry.

Yep this is a common thing to happen. I did this the first time I test drove my Brumby. The owner had a heart attack and thought I broke the car! Hey, so did I! It happens because there is no centre diff. When the front and rear turn at different speeds the driveline binds up and causes an awful gri...

Do you have the odds available?

Whatever they are, I'll put $10 on the favourite and $5 on the underdog.

Possibly as a temporary solution, crank up the Torsion bar a bit and see how that goes? The rear will sit a bit higher.

Being a Capacitor Discharge Ignition, it stores electricity within the MSD unit, and even after power has been switched off from it, it still has a few sparks left in it.

That's my understanding of it. Anyone is free to correct me!

I think I'll give the diode a shot. See if that helps. The field wire is the single thin wire that connects to the back yes?

Haha! Yes, hills are the Sherpa's sworn enemy!

Ok Chris you said keep a relay handy if the car doesn't shut off.

The car with the MSD installed hsa slight run on. In the manual it says to install a 1A/200V diode in the field wire to the alternator.

Is this what you did? What did you mean by relay? Install it where?

Hmm, you hear about the Datto kids modifying Subaru diffs to suit their 1600's. Maybe you could get a taller ratio out of a 1600 (which is also an R160) and modify that?

Are you just wanting better fuel economy? Maybe you could look at engine modifications etc?

Sherpa Down.

Ok, so I was up at Baron's place this weekend. The trip up was funny. Driving along, get to just past Gundagai and the exhaust falls off at the collector pipe. This makes life interesting for the remainder of the trip. Talk about drawing attention! Anyway, Jordan and I spend Saturday evenin' doing a...

I meant to put AUS$175. Shipping wasn't THAT much! lol

Would it be worth investing in a new coil? MSD sell motorbike coils Part#8204 I think.

Also, if I keep the same coil, do I keep the ballast resistor in there?

I got mine for US$96 off eBay and then postage was a bit more. All up it's going to be $175 landed. It's 'as new'.
